PAWLET -- In her lawsuit against the town of Pawlet and former library chair Harley Cudney, former library director Lyndsi Barnes no longer has legal representation. Rutland Superior Court Judge Mary Miles Teachout granted attorney Richard Bowen his request to withdraw from a lawsuit Barnes filed in January, 2025. In a brief hearing Monday morning, conducted remotely, Bowen announced he was retiring from the practice of law. The lawsuit he filed on behalf of Barnes argues that Cudney’s actions as chair of the Pawlet Public Library Board of Trustees went beyond those prescribed legally.
