The Jefferson City man who was struck by a pickup Sunday evening while riding an electric bicycle has died, the Cole County Prosecuting Attorney's Office confirmed Tuesday afternoon. Rich "Pineapple" Robben was struck by an allegedly impaired driver Sunday evening on his way to work at Eat Smart Meals JCMO, according to a Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement and a Facebook post by the business. Robben suffered life-threatening injuries to his head and face during the crash and was taken to University Hospital in Columbia, where he died Tuesday around 2:17 p.m., Cole County Prosecuting Attorney Locke Thompson said in an email. Robben was a blues singer and a father, and loved pineapple-upside-down cake and potato soup.
