4 criminal trial witnesses sue Karen Read, blogger Turtleboy for defamation (WJAR) — Four witnesses in the Karen Read case have sued Read and a blogger known as Turtleboy for defamation and emotional distress on Thursday. According to court documents, Jennifer McCabe, Brian Albert, Colin Albert, and Brian Higgins filed the lawsuit in Barnstable Superior Court. The complaint alleges that Read and Aidan Kearney defamed the four witnesses by asserting that they were responsible for John O’Keefe’s death, conspired to conceal their roles in his death, and framed Read for the murder. The four sued both Read and Kearney for defamation and emotional distress, among other claims, and are seeking damages, court documents say.
