About the case
After more than a decade of litigation, Visa, Mastercard, and major issuing banks agreed to a $5.6 billion class settlement (Rule 23(b)(3)) covering U.S. merchants who accepted Visa or Mastercard cards from 2004 through January 2019. A separate Rule 23(b)(2) injunctive class addresses business practices going forward.
