About the case
The Camp Lejeune Justice Act allows people exposed to contaminated water at the base for at least 30 days between 1953 and 1987 to sue for damages. Conditions linked to the contamination include several cancers (kidney, liver, bladder), Parkinson's disease, and miscarriage. Claims are filed in the Eastern District of North Carolina. The two-year exclusive filing window opened in August 2022 and was extended for certain claimants. Estimated total exposure: ~1 million people.
