Ben Crump, along with co-counsel Harry Daniels, Gabrielle Higgins, and Sue-Ann Robinson, filed a federal civil rights lawsuit on behalf of Charles Adair's family against Wyandotte County, Deputy Richard Fatherley, and Sheriff Daniel Soptic.
